What are the benefits
Put into practice the tools developed during the Instructor Development Course. Practice observation during session management with your instructor colleagues
A typical 4-hour session in the FSTD is used so that 3 instructors can experience EBT as pilots and the instructor. The session is divided into 3 short scenarios with several surprise elements. This is followed by live debriefing of your colleagues with appropriate coaching from our team.
What to expect
Coaching sessions are aimed at lead instructors and those responsible for standardization. The FSTD is a powerful way to experience the potential of EBT, each instructor also having the experience as a pilot during the session. Live assessments and debriefing complete the picture of EBT so that the instructors can provide coaching to their instructor teams.
The sessions are referenced to the development of objectives set out in ICAO Doc 9868 Chapter 7.

Agenda
Within the briefing, session and debriefs we explore the following in depth and based on live performance:
- Competency-based assessment
- Facilitation practice
- “Surprise” as a Training Topic
“It was interesting to learn about the term “resilience”, which we then tried to demonstrate during the simulator coaching. The format of simulator training is very interesting. Pilots are constantly in multitasking mode, you need to process a large amount of information, making decisions, and executing plans. Here you can immediately see how the crew will really work in a difficult situation. At the same time, minor deviations and inaccuracies, which we constantly pay attention to with the traditional approach, go to the background. This is about the big picture and the effective management of complex threats. When conducting debriefing, I liked that the instructor does not need to directly point out mistakes. The pilot understands how to improve his performance through reflection. The Instructor helps the process with facilitation.”
Who should attend
Coaching and standarization sessions are intended for groups of 3 type qualified instructors or examiners who have completed the Instructor Development Training (Classroom) Course.
Where is it delivered
The session may be delivered in any FSTD qualified for recurrent training and checking.
