Paul is the Director responsible for Europe in Salient. 

He began his flying career flying fast jets in the Royal Air Force. He joined British Airways in 1987 flying the BAC1-11 and has since flown many types, including the B737/747/757/767/777 and Airbus 320/380/350.  Paul is passionate about all aspects of training, both technical and non-technical.

He has been a Type Rating Instructor and Examiner since 1989 and is also a Crew Resource Management (CRM) Trainer, and CRM Trainer Examiner. He held a management position in British Airways with responsibility for the design of Human Factors and Non-technical Training for the Airline’s Flightcrew and coordinated the Airline’s contribution to the JARTEL (NOTECHS Behavioural Marker System) and ESSAI (Situation Awareness) EU-funded research projects.

Paul has been a member of the UK CAA affiliated Flightcrew Human Factors Advisory Panel since 1998 (including 10 years as Vice-Chairman) and a contributor to current EASA Flightcrew CRM Training legislation.
