About Nicolai
Nicolai has been a professional pilot since 2005, when he joined Sterling Airlines flying the B737. He went into training in 2006 becoming a flight instructor on small aircraft and teaching ATPL theory.
He was very engaged in an ATO for MPL and ab initio training, alongside his airline career. In 2008 he was part of the instructor team to train the first MPL students. Nicolai joined easyjet on the B737 and later switched to the A320 family before he left easyjet and joined Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia in 2011.
Nicolai has been part of the training management team since 2012, first as the Chief Ground Instructor/Chief Technical Knowledge Instructor and since 2016 as the NP Crew Training/Head of Training.
Nicolai is a TRI/TRE on the A320 and A330 and was part of the introduction of EBT in Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia, the first EASA airline to approved for mixed EBT. Nicolai has an interest in Human Factors and attended the Master in Human factors and system safety at Lund University in 2013-2014. Today Nicolai is NP Crew Training and Head of Training for Sunclass Airlines.
Throughout his career, he has lived and worked in 5 different countries and has always been interested in human factors and learning about new cultures, which is why he has been leading the implementation of the just culture program in the airline.
